Jay Applewhite is Chairman of Industry Exchange LLC and Equity Partner of Business News Americas (BNamericas) based in Santiago, Chile. With clients in more than 30 countries and editorial presence throughout all of Latin America, BNamericas is the principal source of business information for industry executives who are active in the region.

 

From 1999 until 2013, Jay was the CFO and COO of BNamericas and was responsible for the overall financial health, operational efficiency and general performance of the Company. During his tenure, the Company grew revenue by more than 30% year on year for more than 10 years in a row while maintaining profitability.

 

Jay Applewhite cofounded BNamericas Events which today organizes twelve successful Industry summits in five countries. He also achieved millions of dollars in tax savings through efficient corporate structuring, incorporated companies in Mexico, Chile and offshore territories, and raised over U$1 million in grant funding from the Chilean government.

 

Jay holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Finance from Texas A&M University and a Masters Degree in Finance from Adolfo Ibañez University in Santiago, Chile. While in Chile, he obtained an internationally recognized pilot's license from the Direccion General Aeronautica Civil (DGAC).

 

For a period of six years, Mr. Applewhite was elected to the Board of Directors for the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Chile, CICMEX and was elected President of the Communications Committee. Fluent in Spanish, he is an active member of the entrepreneurial Endeavor Network as well as the Founders Institute in Chile.

 

After living in Chile and working in Latin America for more than 16 years, Jay now resides with his wife and family in Austin, Texas.
